hi all, i think this is the right place for this post.
i switched from the freephoneline desktop app (which worked ok) to the fongo, dell voice desktop app.
this switch was suggested by support due to the changes with fongo etc.
registration went ok, i can logon to the app fine. i can even click the voice messages ok.
my main problem is i cannot dial any numbers whatsoever.
i press #.* 1234567890 nothing happens.
i discovered this while checking voice messages, when it says to exit press star.
i did and nothing happens. i have to press end a few times to get it to stop.
as mentioned i had the freephoneline app installed and working fine (still do)
so i doubt its anything on my pc causing it. since freephoneline app works ok.
i tried installing dell voice a few times but no luck.
i am running windows xp with sp3, i have java and flash.
any ideas ?
thanks

Re: dell voice desktop app
On the desktop app, click on "settings > settings >other" and try changing the DTMF type.

Re: dell voice desktop app
hi jake,
I just tried that but still nothing.
its like something is missing in the "dial-pad".
i can mouse over the numbers, the * and # ,they change color, but when i click them nothing happens.
like when i use the voice messages button the *98 shows up fine but that's all.
when i try to press numbers those do not show up in that spot the *98 did.

Re: dell voice desktop app
Are you sure that you are connected OK. I have noticed that Both the FPL and DELL clients show something like "No connection to server" and then the key pad does not work but *98 does. I saw the very same thing today. Usually the "No connection to server" eventually goes away and then the display shows the phone number and the key pad works again. I just put it down to MS Windows Vista doing something it "thinks" important and not responding. Perhaps there is more to it than that. What the solution is I don't know.

Re: dell voice desktop app
I'm experiencing the same problem. I cannot dial using the dial pad. But if a create a contact and make the call from the contact screen then it dials the number. If I try to use the dial pad nothing appears.
When I have the focus on the area where the numbers appear when you dial, using the keyboard all the letters and characters I type appear except for the ones on the dial pad. Pretty strange...
BTW I'm running Windows 7 Home Edition 64 Bit on a Lenovo x120e

Hi, yes im sure its connected, i can access voice mail using the button but nothing works for the dial pad if you try to add it manually or type a number etc.. its like its only a picture of a dial pad with no active functions besides color changes when you mouse over a button.dibsmft wrote:Are you sure that you are connected OK. Re: dell voice desktop app
It seems a few people are experiencing this issue. not just me.
also i can only access voice messages using the website, cannot access the commands using the desktop app.
(since pressing numbers on the keypad does not work i can not listen to any messages unless i download off the website)
But id like to know if anyone is actually looking into it. ?
id like to use the software but its no good to me if it will not work.
id like to know if i should wait for a resolution or just switch back to the original FPL software.

Re: dell voice desktop app
just an update on the problem.
Not sure exactly what problem was but i just finished a fresh xp sp3 install on my pc.
I re-installed the dellvoice desktop app. and now all seems to be working ok.
was odd though that the freephoneline app still worked fine yet the dellvoice app gave issues.
maybe something dellvoice uses in its programming that freephone does not.?
either way, its good to see it finally working.
although another question id have is about port 13000 ?
doing a connection test i am told it should be open... is this safe?
And can anyone suggest how to do it, in english please, not gibberish
?
im using comodo internet security.
thanks
