voice mail greeting issue / PBXes issue

Post by dell nacada »

Hi

As the thread subject indicates, I have two issues to sort out:

voicemail personal greeting

I'm experiencing the personal greeting problem several others have mentioned here before, where despite recording a personal greeting on my Dell voice mail, callers are still met with a standard greeting.

PBXes

The other problem I'm experiencing is that I've purchased the SIP credentials for the Dell voice (fongo) number and have set it up successfully as a trunk for routing in/out calls through PBXes for a ring group consisting of a couple of phones at home.

I have no issues calling out on the phones through the fongo line outbound route on PBXes to PSTN numbers, however calling the fongo number inbound has been intermittent, sometimes ringing my phones and sometimes not.

I suspect it's not PBXes or my ports, as I have another trunk from another provider on the PBXes account as well which has been rock solid inbound/outbound with no issues.

I'd appreciate some help from an admin to have a look at the account. Perhaps the issues are inter-related somehow. Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have nothing else trying to register with your Dell voice credentials. That includes the iPhone/android app. You need to use another SIP app and register using a pbxes extension instead. Only the last device to register would receive an incoming call otherwise. If you are using pbxes anyway, you might want to consider using the voicemail they provide. I find the voice message indicator is muck quicker than fongo's.

Same problem with pbxes and sipsorcery as well. I have a similar thread but unfortunately I have not gotten the issue resolved.
