I just setup freephoneline.ca by ata adapter. I tried to setup voice mail and follow me function as following:
a. setup "follow me" as "call forward when unavailable"
b. put my cell # in
So what i understand is: when the internet service or freephoneline service is not available, then my cell get called,
if not, caller can leave the message to my voice mail.
However in my testing, I don't have chance to leave message and go to my cell phone after 5 ring tone.
It is normal or something wrong?
thanks
Bill

Re: follow me and voice mail
when using ata, you should choose "call forward always" not when "is not available", and it should works, what my understanding the option "when not available" only works when using softphone ie. your computer..so when your computer is off, that when not available work..hope this help

Re: follow me and voice mail
Thanks for your information.
However the call will get to my cell phone without go to voice mail.
Can any FPL people give some idea?

Re: follow me and voice mail
My understanding:
When you are using an ATA and it's running well, that means your FPL service is under "available" mode, then you can't have your cell phone ringing if you have set your FollowMe as "call forward when unavailable".
The "call forward when unavailable" only takes effect when FPL server is down or ALL of these are off-work: your softphone, your ATA, any other apps and agent devices which are using your FPL credentials.
So if your ATA is running and you want the call forwarded to your cell phone after a few rings, you can set up in your ATA or through a handset to force a call forwarding to a specific number, and the duration/rings should be shorter than the duation/rings to voicemail.
