No dial tone

Post by ap236 »

I haven't been getting a dial tone today. I checked my router and the ports are still being forwarded. I reserved an IP address over a year ago just for the ATA.

I checked the ATA and it's saying it can't connect to login server.

Try turning off the ATA and any computers and other devices connected to the router and then power down the router. Wait 5 - 10 minutes and the restart the router and once the router has connected start the ATA. Check to see if the ATA is working OK... if it is you can then start your other devices.

I turned off all but one laptop, including the ATA, waited about 2 - 3 mins then plugged the ATA back in, then the router, then booted up my laptop. It works now. Thank you for your help.

Did you forward the required ports to the ATA from the router when you configured it? I seems that you may be having problems with the IP address that you assigned (getting grabbed by another device) or with the ports being used by another device.
