I set up forwarding when unavailable.
I checked normally it forwards the call after 8 rings. Is there a way to set the number of rings for unavailable status?Let's say I could set after 4 rings it will forward the call to the other number.
Thanks

Hi wang120, When unavailable, it will forward immediatly. This ony takes effect when you are not logged into the service by any other way (ATA, Softphone, Phone App on cell) It forwards right away as there is no other possible destination for it other then going directly to VM (before going to VM is logged in, it will THEN transfer to followm me if on unavailable.

Are you using a sip phone app on your cell that may be connected?
Can you PM me your number and i'll take a look into your account to see if it is indeed anything to do with the settings?

Re: Number of rings for unavailable ststus
Is there a certain period of time after an ATA/Softphone/App is disconnected that your system still thinks it is connected?
What I means is, if I pull the plug out of my ATA am I marked as unavailable straight away or will the system still think I am connected for a few minutes (or after several times of trying to get me)?
Could it be that wang120's forwarding is not working as expected because he is still being marked as 'available' even though he has just turned off his softphone?
Does any of that make sense?

Your concept (if I understand it correct) makes sense to me -- I have had the same happen here during testing with just the FPL softphone app -- after I close it, and turn around and call my own number, rather than vmail kicking in right away, it "pretends" to ring (ie: rings on the calling end) the multiple times before going to voicemail --- whereas, under general conditions, if I have not have the softphone open, calls to my FPL # go direct to VM without any intervening rings.Jake wrote:Is there a certain period of time after an ATA/Softphone/App is disconnected that your system still thinks it is connected?

It seems that there IS an inherent delay in the system for the status of the ACCOUNT to be updated somewhere -- not sure what that time is, or if there is a way to change the "refresh" time ....
Did I get your meaning correctly on this??
