Hello,
The Ottawa area has 2 area codes now. 613 & 343. When dialling from Ottawa a local 343-number I am played an announcement indicating the number is not in the the plan and is a chargeable call.
Can 343 be added to the local Ottawa area?

Thanks,
Doug.

I believe there are a few 343 numbers listed up as 2cents when they should be free, but OttawaDoug - you will have to let Steve know the number you are trying to call.
New exchanges will be coming available all the time in that area code so it might take a while before they are all picked up and added to the tariff correctly.

Re: Ottawa "343" Area Code
Thanks for the quick responses. My bad guys - sorry. I misdialed it with area-code 643.
The actually number was Phone: 343-883-23XX - which does work.
Thanks again & sorry. It's just a lot of Bell switches are not setup correctly meaning folks couldn't dial me at work, so when I tried with FPL, I just assumed it was FPL's issue.

Tariff update question... (for Steve!)
As Jake states, there are always new exchanges coming on line, in various areacodes (NPAs) ...Jake wrote:New exchanges will be coming available all the time in that area code so it might take a while before they are all picked up and added to the tariff correctly.
My question to Steve -- how does the newly automated set-up parse, and what does it parse? As it seems that there is quite a long lag from the time that CNAC (for example) updates their website (which is all but official!) ...
Is Fibernetics/Fongo/FPL updating off TRA info, or .... ???? Trade secret? Curious just because we are seeing a high number of 'caught errors' where we are having to get manual requests for corrections -- which seem to burden you somewhat.
I am just thinking that there MUST be a better or more efficient way that would still maintain the integrity that the "rates and routing" department needs ... it seems like such an ONEROUS task to have to hand-plug ...

Hardy - Surrey, BC ~~ increasingly disgruntled FPL user ... comon, fix your stuff!
