Hey all,
I have a Nexus S running Android 4.0.4 and installed Dell Voice.
Everything is great except for the echos that the recipient hears.
I have tried on WiFi and on data, same problem.
Thanks,
Charles

Re: Echo on Dell Voice Android (ICS 4.0.4)
Echo can arise in a number of ways but the most common cause is using a computer client with microphone and speakers. In your case try turning the microphone and speaker volume down as low as you can. If you have echo suppression on the phone then turn it on. If the person that you call is using a computer client then the best answer is to use a headset and turn the speakers off. Some regular phone handsets are not properly matched with the system impedance and this will also cause echo.

Thanks for the quick reply, but I'm using a cell to call a land-line and other cells.dibsmft wrote:Echo can arise in a number of ways but the most common cause is using a computer client with microphone and speakers. Echo suppression is not in my settings as far as I can tell. I am using the Nexus S which is a developer phone.

Re: Echo on Dell Voice Android (ICS 4.0.4)
I have an LG Optimus one running Android 2.2.1 which seems to default to speaker phone which I can't turn off, this causes terrible echo problems for the recipient. If I turn the volume way down, it improves the echo for the recipient but I can hardly hear them. I should be able to turn the speaker off and use it like a regular phone. Waiting for a fix.

Hobbes..
Try pressing the speaker button on and then off when it happens ..... it seems to work with my tablet.
Also, ask the person on the other end not to use the speakerphone option. (I suspect that DellVoice
may have echo supression enables by default).
