Need help for port forwarding
Hi everyone,
Evertything is fine with the service, except I don't ear people when they call. I did some research and I need to do port forwarding on the router. I did it but I need to know which is the IP Adress of my ATA? I need to write an IP adress for the ports forwarded...
ATA: innomedia MTA-6328-2Re
Router: D-link DIR-601
P.S. If I write ipconfig in ms-dos, I have 4 IP'S: IPv6, IPv4, sub gateway and gateway. I have no clue...

Re: Need help for port forwarding
Log into your D-link DIR-601 Router (probably 192.168.0.1)
Click on the "setup" tab and you will see on the left hand side "network settings"
Click "network setting"
Scroll down to"NUMBER OF DYNAMIC DHCP CLIENTS"
you should see a list of things connected to your router.

You might find this resource useful
http://portforward.com/english/routers/ ... ip.com.htm
There are other providers in the database but not Fongo. It should give you the general idea.

I have done that and I still can't ear anything. Do I need to setup my ATA also?
Thx.
Thx.

Re: Need help for port forwarding
You need to configure the ATA but you have not said which Innomedia model you have.
The full manual is here

Ok, I don't have a clue how to open ports with my ATA... The full manual doesn't tell.

Re: Need help for port forwarding
You don't have to open ports on your ATA. You need to tell which ports have been opened for it . Which model of the Innomedia ATA do you have? If you forward port 5061 UDP (SIP signaling) from the router to the ATA then in the ATA set up there should be a place to enter this at the port for the ATA to "listen on" and also probably enter the standard port somewhere.

Re: Need help for port forwarding
ATA: innomedia MTA-6328-2Re
I found an option called NAT port map database from my ATA. I wrote the internal source IP as the IP of my router with the ports 5060,5061,6060,6061,13000,13001(UDP) like I saw on the internet.
I still can't listen.

Re: Need help for port forwarding
Which model of the ATA do you have?
I cannot help you unless I know a little more. I have never seen or used Innomedia device. The configuration should be quite simple.
Based on your reply, it seems that your ATA is also a router and this could make configuration more difficult. The SIP ATA device configuration is around page 31 of the manual. Do you already have another router?

Re: Need help for port forwarding
the model is MTA 6328-2Re, Yes, I have another router, the D-link DIR-601. Indeed, the configuration is very simple but not to open ports apparently. (I'm pulling my hair)

Re: Need help for port forwarding
I am thinking. I use a wireless connection for my laptop and a wire connection for my ATA. Are they on the same configuration? Maybe, I need to do the port forwarding when I am wired?

Re: Need help for port forwarding
So the D-Link is the router that your "ATA" is connected to?
If that is the case the ports should be forwarded from the D-Link to the ATA this means that you will need to assign a static IP to your ATA within the router. The router portion of the ATA can probably be disabled (NAT turned OFF) later. Do you use the ATA router ports?
The MTA 6328 has two voip ports so you will probably want to forward port 5061 and 5062 UDP (not 5060) to the ATA and set the external to 5060 so that you can address the ports separately to avoid confusion. You need to forward a range of ports, 13000-13100 UDP for the actual RTP (voice) packets and that should be all that you need.

Yes, I don't use the ATA router ports.

Re: Need help for port forwarding
The ATA you have is aimed at busines uses as far as I can tell and so are the manuals so they are difficult for a new user starting voip. (As was the Sipura SPA3102 when it was first released.) That is why FPL supply a very simple ATA.
OK. So lets start over now that we have some of the details about your network....
1. Disconnect the ATA connect your computer directly to the router and get your internet back working the way that it was before by putting the old settings back. When that is done..
2. Connect the ATA to the router and wait until it has connected. Then connect to your computer to the ATA and go to the configuration pages as per the qick setup manual
http://www.innomedia.com/manuals/sipdev ... l_v1_1.pdf
on the "Figure 8. Configuring Provisioning Settings"
uncheck the "Enable autoprovisioning" tab to leave the box empty. (You don't want autoprovisioning).
When you have your network back and your are connected to the ATA OK we can try to configure the Voip/sip part of the ATA.
