Issues with Grandstream GXV3140 using Fongo

Post by mocap1974 »

Hello,

I am having issues using my Grandstream GXV3140 phone using Fongo. At one moment my phone is working fine, both in coming and outbound calls work. Then after a certain period of time, it seems like my phone either times out or logs off the network and I can make outgoing calls, but incoming calls never get to my phone, it rings and they go to my voicemail. At all times my line appears registered on the server on my phone. I have called Fongo support and there seems to be no issues on their end and they suspect it may be settings on my phone.

I am using a Dlink DIR 655 router and my ISP is Videotron.

Phone Model: GXV3140
Firmware: 1.0.7.50

Here are my SIP settings on my phone:
SIP Registration :Yes
Register Expiration (m) : 60
Wait Time Retry Registration (s) : 20
Local SIP Port : 5060
Session Expiration (s) : 180
Min-SE (s) : 90
UAC Specify Refresher : OMIT
UAS Specify Refresher : UAC
SIP Transport : UDP
Support SIP Instance ID: Yes
SIP T1 Timeout: 0.5 Sec
SIP T2 Interval: 4 sec

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated

When I had my PAP2T connected directly to FPL a registration time (expiration) of 3600 as they suggested was too long and I had the same problem as you. The only way I managed to fix it was to drop that down to 60 seconds. I see you have yours at 60 minutes, so it might be worth seeing if dropping that down to 1 minute helps with keeping it connected.

My thinking is it has something to do with me not being able to forward ports properly, or my router was just rubbish. Either way 60 seconds worked for me.

For now try running STUN.... your can use stun.ekiga.net or stun.voxgratia.org it should be available in the configuration screen for your phone

Jake,
I tried your suggestion to change the registration time to 60 seconds and so far that seems to work.

Thanks for your help

60 seconds seems quite short and might give the login servers a bit more activity than necessary. (I have 60 min set on my GS286). I wonder if lowering the UDP keep alive function would have a similar effect although the default is 20 sec on the GS286 where mine is set. How is yours set?
