It can be a good ATA once properly set up. The problem is that a lot of them are counterfeit, and the fakes do not last long. My fake PAP2 lasted me 2 months, but it worked beautifully in those 2 months. You can usually tell it is fake if the MAC address does not match Cisco gear.
