Not sure if i have the correct forum but i am using the desktop version of FPL and i am not able to make a call or receive anything for the past couple of days.

I type in the number, the msg says " calling 1 xxx xxx xxxx " then it switches to my phone number. Nothing...No ring dial or anything.

When people call me it rings twice then cuts off. Doesn't go to voice mail. What is going on??

If it makes a difference i am still using FPL version: 3.0.3.0.

Have you changed anything about your network recently (ISP, router, modem network usage etc)? What router ISP, modem, router are you using?

Check to make sure that there is no new anti-virus software (with background detection) or any firewall changes.

Are you running several apps in the background as well while you are trying to use 3.0.3 ?? I have it too and it is a little unstable if there is a lot going on ... when my outgoing calls fail, sometimes making sure that the background apps are closed (not just minimized, depending on what they are, especially if they chew up bandwidth and/or lots of processor power) clears that up. If I get two or three failed calls OUT where it reverts to my phone number after showing "dialing", I close and relaunch the app -- 90% of the time that clears it up for me.

If you need some absolutely DEAD test numbers to make calls to, the following are Vancouver Weather recordings from Environment Canada ...

As these are touch tone menus, you can also try out and see if your DTMF tones are working properly without bothering a real human!

I keep my fingers crossed that they will bug-fix the FPL 3.0.3 soon, as there are several issues with it.

For INCOMING calls, the above also applies, if there is a lot going on on your machine, try to shut down/minimize as much as possible for the calls to complete properly. For me, this is the biggest drawback right now and where the CID bug comes into play -- I cannot tell WHO I just missed a call from until I log into my account, check the call log and then I can return the call ...

I am so sorry for not getting back. I am finding FPL to be very stressful but since i am not paying anything I have no right to complain. I do have some good news but also some bad.

The Good: It seems i am able to make out going calls now. I dont know what happened to fix this but that part is working.

The Bad:
1) I have no sound.
When ever i dial a number there are no key press sounds. When ever i am calling someone there is no sound in between when i dial and the person answers. However, once the person answers the call i can hear them fine. I went into my settings and under sounds i clicked play and nothing happened. So i 'Reset to Default' and still nothing happened. The same is true for when people call me, no sound.

2) When people call me only a popup window comes up for a few seconds then sends the caller to voice mail. It will only ring once before it goes directly to voice mail. And as i said before I have no ringing sound when people call, just a popup window but i really have no time to click accept before it goes to voice mail.

It is because of all of these problems i will not risk putting money into this program. Maybe if these problems are resolved and i have no issues for 2-3months will I consider using FPL as my home phone.

Is anybody else experiencing the same problem? I don't.

1) Due to the very limited information given, I can only guess that your Windows Audio and Sound settings are not configured properly. ;)

2) You may need to review your Fongo account settings to make sure that number of rings before voicemail is not set to 1. You may need to set it to 4 or higher.
