Does Anyone have any dynamite?

Post by pprince »

We are on day 7 of no phone and internet from Fongo.

I have given up on customer service. They are all useless. Jose in particular.

The first day I got them to agree to escalate to second level. 2 days later 2nd level had done nothing. It took me 4 days of arguing for them to agree to send a technician and now at day 7 we still don't have any service and no response from Fongo.

I tried to get them to escalate my problem.

I cannot believe a comapny like this would let a customer dangle without service for so long. They should have done everything possible to fix the issue but the response has been pathetic.

I have burned up about a 150 of my cell phone minutes, at my expense, because of being put on hold.

You used a cell phone to call a customer service line in Canada? Are you daft?

Find another internet carrier then. I suspect Fongo is growing too quickly to be able to provide adequate customer service at this time. Try to stay away from DSL if you can, because all the small carriers are at the mercy of Bell, and there is no point is Fongo saying it is Bell's fault you do not have internet service, even though that is the likely fault.

DSL can be a bit fussy about your house wiring if it is old or corroded. I had problems with DSL when I had to change to a new modem supplied by Bell-Aliant. The old had always worked well but the new old would regularly need to be restarted and generally worked poorly. I eventually tracked the problem down mainly to corrosion and very messy wiring in the box where the line came into the house. I cleaned and tidied up the wiring and put new dedicated to the room where the modem was installed. After that everything has worked faultlessly for years. So, check that your wiring is good and try a different phoneline connecting cable to the modem as they sometimes fail. Of course it you provider have not initiated the connection then none of the above will help!

bridonca are you serious? What would you have me use since my f'ing phone line was not working...smoke signals?

We switched over to a new carrier yesterday with actual customer service 24/7 and who speak English.

I still cannot believe Fongo allowed us to go 2 1/2 weeks with no service. Everyone I speak to will hear about how bad they are.

Did you get back to Mike with the information requested? Our management would like to look into the individuals who assisted you so we can understand who was responsible for the poor service and take the appropriate action.

Steve: may not be the right place to air this, but I have read a lot of anti-FONGO type comments lately in a similar vein. Now it might just be people squawking, but it is not really a good impression if it IS true or even has the APPEARANCE of being true.

CS is a huge thing, and a lot of companies are getting slagged bad for their outsourcing and poor CS ... I empathize with the "rapid and explosive growth has caused some issues", but the frontline CS should never suffer to a point where you end up with such dissatisfied customers, as they will most certainly sing long and loud about what has aggrieved them, either real or perceived!

I really can't believe the short sighted comments here.

We were without PHONE AND INTERNET. I was able to use someone else's computer to make my initial post about this lack of service.

Then everyone's says "did you do this" like it's my fault.

If someone at Fongo really cared about their customers my name is my id...Paul Prince.

How hard is it to do a search on your billing system?

Which leads me to my next beef. They debited another months amount from my credit card and still no return call from the billing person.

Hey Paul ... I apologize if it seems like "we made it your fault" --- we were all collectively trying to give you helpful information to help resolve your problem. Most all of us on the forum are NON-Fongo employees, so we can't access your info or help you DIRECTLY, only indirectly by making suggestions.

Follow up with a detailed complaint/issue thingy to Steve via PM, and I am certain that he will be able to get the right people to look into your issue, billing etc.

Take a few deep breaths, stop crapping on those of us that are trying to provide you with useful information and hopefully your situation will get resolved quickly!
