Hi,
I already own one line at home, successfully working with a tplink router. Therefore I'm quite familiar with port forwarding & etc.
Now I'm trying to setup a phone line at my girl friends place with their Belkin F5D8236 & Linksys PAP2 adapter, but having hard time getting it work. It works sometime, and then it does not work other times. I allowed all the ports required through virtual servers, and also tried to put the phone adapter in DMZ so that it will be out of NAT.
Just wondering whether anybody else had similar issues with Belkin and have any solution?

Re: Issues with Belkin F5D8236 Router
Please get another router! This Belkin specifically has router firmware so bad, that even if you manually route a path, it still will not route to that path! You cannot get updates, and DD-WRT is not an option, so the best use of it is as a clay target and the acquired wisdom of learning never to buy a Belkin Router again.
If you need another router on the cheap there is this one. http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/ ... 75bb6een02

This time it looks like bridonca may be right. There seem to be quite a lot of postings on the web re. problems with the Belkin F5D8236 and voip. I think I would replace it if you want to use it for voip.

A good test to make sure everything else is OK is to take your router over to her house and test it with everything else. If it works, it is the router. If it doesn't it might need some more testing.

Re: Issues with Belkin F5D8236 Router
I use two old linksys routers flashed DD-WRT no port forwarding at all and my Linksy ATA for FPL works without any hiccup
I have one router upstairs and basement as repeater cause I have smart phone so every where i go I got strong signal for wifi
Of course they have the same SSID so that's why I have strong signal when I am in my backyard
