Cisco SPA 112 configuration

Post by larryjcai@yahoo.com »

I just got the config file and trying to set up the Voip using SPA 112. However, it keep telling me the account number is invalid. Wondering whether the account is activated since my another Voip line is working. Disable the other one and reset the freephoneline, still not working. Called customer service and was told to come here for info. Anybody can help?

Have you properly configured the router and the ATA to run both lines?
To save messing about try to cure a problem that might be somewhere else, fist check that your account actually works. Either try running your account on a soft client on your computer or deactivate the first voip line on your ata and only run the one with Freephoneline on it and see if it works (power off both the router and the ATA then turn on the router and then the ATA ..... does Freephoneline work now?

It works from the computer.
I did as you suggested, still saying the account is not valid.

Just a couple of things to try -
Make sure the username has the 1 at the front of it.
Be careful when entering the password, 1 (one) and l,I can look the same, as can 0 (zero) and O, o.
If you have copied and pasted the password, sometimes an extra blank space gets added in, so count the dots twice and make sure one extra character has not sneaked in.

Try a softphone (not the FPL one) and see if you can get it set up on that.

:D That's why they keep me around - I'm good at fixing the easy problems. They don't let me near the more technical ones though  I tend to break more than I fix.

Easy mistake to make especially as I suppose you must have used the 1 when you logged in via your PC. Now enjoy your phone service :) .
