ATA SIP won't work after ported
My number just ported today, received email confirms porting is completed. login to my ATA (OBi110), update my SIP username to the newly ported number, but it won't work, try the softphone it work ok with the new number, login my account at freephoneline.ca it indicated my SIP status as "disconnected", my ATA configuration page indicated "Register Failed: No Response From Server". The ATA was working fine before porting, I suspect Fongo haven't update my new number with my SIP password, being the starting of long weekend, I don't think I can't call tomorrow to have this problem fix, anyone have any idea? Any FONGO staff here can help? its very important for me to get this to work properly, its my primary phone now.

Couple of things to try.
Make sure you entered your full number including the initial 1 as your username.
Power down everything (modem, router, and ATA), leave them powered down for a few minutes, then power them up one by one (modem > router > ATA)

Re: ATA SIP won't work after ported
Thank you Jake, out of town during long weekend, didn't have any chance to check this board. before left for the weekend, I unplug the ATA from the router and plug it directly into the modem, it work, so I known the problem is from the router, I intent to delete item by item in the router relate to the ATA to see where is the problem, and the first item I delete was the port forwarding, after saving the setup, the router require a reboot, after reboot, bingo! it work, but now I have another problem, outgoing call work normal, incoming call my phone ring normally, but the caller won't hear any ring tone from their end, so they think the phone is down and hang up. Anyone have any idea? so I can save some trouble shooting time. Than you all.

Glad you got the first bit working. For your other problem, a few people are saying the same thing. So I would either call into a CSR, message a FONGO staff member with your problem and number and just sit tight I guess.Bent wrote:but now I have another problem, outgoing call work normal, incoming call my phone ring normally, but the caller won't hear any ring tone from their end, so they think the phone is down and hang up. Because so many are saying the same thing, I don't think it is anything you have done or can do.

Re: ATA SIP won't work after ported
This is currently a known issue that we are working on to get resolved as quick as possible. I can not comment at this time on the time frame for when this issue is expected to be resolved.
One work around at the moment that can be used is to set your "follow me" settings to "simultaneous" and have it ring on multiple lines at once. If i am not mistaken, this will notify you at multiple sources and may create a ring back for the caller.
I will tell you now we have not tested this theory yet as we do not have any newly ported numbers in our offices to test with.
If you do try this, please let me know your results.

Re: ATA SIP won't work after ported
Thanks Mike,
I actually discover the work around you mention above by myself last night, and post it in the “No ringback tone after ported” thread, http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=6022.
I have another voip number using the MagicJack plus, I forward my FPL number to the MagicJack plus exactly like you said, it work very well, , most of the time both phone ring at the same time, occasionally the FPL ring first then the MagicJack, the caller will only hear the ring back tone when the MagicJack start to ring, I kwon this because I test the setup with my cell and watch the 2 phone in action.

A change was implement and tested. The no ring back issue should not be resolved. We have tested and when calling we heard the ring back tone.

Re: ATA SIP won't work after ported
The ringback tone problem is not solved in my side. It is a long lasting issue along with some other issues, such as not dialing out at all after a period (receiving a strange message saying that your phone coverage does not support the dialed number). When I power off-on the ATA, some problems (such as the latter one mentioned) get resolved but again appear after a while. The ringback tone problem (not having ringback when I originate a call) always exists.
