[resolved] Ported - Not Ported

Post by otown »

Last week I got an email saying my number would be ported Sept 14....it wasn't. Today I got an email saying the porting is complete...it isn't. When you call the ported number you get a not in service announcement. I can still call out on the line.

I called Fongo and they said it wasn't ported yet and I would be getting another email when it was.

So right now when people call they can't get thru and can't leave a message. Is this whats supposed to happen? How long does porting actually take?

thx

So calls are coming thru...no problem. Voicemail is working too.

What doesn't seem to be working is Calldisplay.....no number and no name is displayed when there is a call. Also the light on the phone that flashes when there is a message isn't working.

I have a FPL number forwarded to a Bell line coming into the house.

Any ideas?

Is the voicemail coming in through the Bell line or your FPL? If your phone is plugged into the Bell line and the voicemail is going to FPL, it will not indicate there is a message.

The voicmail is coming thru FPL and the phone is plugged into the Bell line so no message indicator. What about the Calldisplay question....the incoming call number and names are not being passed on. Any idea?

partial answer on your CID --- Fongo does not do the "name" dip part of things, only the number ... so your incoming caller ID on a Fongo line will be number only ...
Hardy - Surrey, BC ~~ increasingly disgruntled FPL user ... comon, fix your stuff!

Fongo can only display the information that is being broadcast but we do not send requests for anything other then the number that is coming in. However, if the number calling is programmed into your phone, it should display on your screen in the manner that you have it saved as.

As i recall from when we spoke yesterday, you have your fongo line forwarding to the Bell line (in the future to another line)
The voicemail indicator will not show up on your standard Bell line, even when forwarded, as Bell does not have access to our VM indicators.
