Voicemail saves to email instead of home answering machine?
I'm trying to figure out what's going on here with this issue when forwarding calls. Have a cell phone, and I noticed with the "no reply" forwarding option, the home answering machine doesn't work. With "always", "busy" or "out of reach" it seems to use my home answering just fine. When I use "no reply", basically after a few rings on the cell phone, then rings the FPL home phone # and rings there. The home answering machine should pick up, but instead FPL's voicemail service kicks in. Any idea why?

You are not 100% clear in your post what your call-tree looks like ... but I am going to make an assumption! (OOPS!)
I am guessing that you are talking about your mobile phone ... and that you have that set up that if you do not answer your mobile, it forwards CONDITIONALLY (ie busy, no answer, not avail) to your Fongo # ...
Now ... how is your Fongo # set up? Is it the softphone only, or on an ATA? I am guessing ATA, as you say "home answering machine".
What you will need to do in this case, is tweak your home answering machine so that the number of rings until it picks up is LESS than the number of rings that the Fongo voicemail answers at. For FPL, under desktop app settings, VOICEMAIL, there is a setting for Rings before Voicemail, settings are 1-5. This means that at 5, your home answering machine would need to pick up after 4 rings to make sure that Fongo does not grab the call.
It would be nice, and it has been requested, to be able to set the Fongo setting higher, like 8 or so.
See if this is what your issue is, that is what it sounds like.
Also: test calling your Fongo # directly, versus having it call-fwd (fail-over) from calling your cell --- it may behave differently!!!

Eeck, now that's a reply lol and your assumption is correctTheHardy wrote:You are not 100% clear in your post what your call-tree looks like ... but I am going to make an assumption! (OOPS!)

Hmm, that's interesting about the # of rings, I'll definitely give that a shot tomorrow. I just always assumed if it rings on the ata that the web voicemail goes out the window. The thing is, the voicemail on the home answering machine starts up fine when forwarding busy or not avail, FPL voicemail only kicks in when it forwards with no answer. I'll change the # of rings, but I find that strange.

Well thanks for the kudo on the reply. Sometimes it is hard to figure out and assumptions have to be made, usually they come out wrong tho!
I have no proof that the websettings affect the ATA, but as a first line of support troubleshooting it is not a bad place to start; logic seems to point that it might be a trouble spot. The disconnect (or connection) between the websetting and ATA is not that far off, as there is no ATA-based setting for voicemail, so THAT needs to come from somewhere -- only place I know about is in the account settings on the web!
