Text messages format

Post by wisobe »

Dear Fongo,

Some of my messages arrive totally "messed up", meaning that the words and sentences are all mixed which makes the message unreadable. After some testing I (think) discovered that this happens when I receive messages containing French characters like é è ë etc... .

I hope you will be able to dig into this issue.

Thanks upfront for your support.

It works OK on my iPod. I think they updated it to accept French characters. What version of the app are you running? Mine is using 1.4.2.79.

Is there a setting on your iPhone that could be causing the problem?

Hi Mike,

Are you using "Dell Voice" to perform the test or did you try other phones with "normal" text messaging? I checked the AppStore today and I have the latest version of Dell Voice. I asked two friends to text me and both messages arrived with squares instead of the actual character. Both are with Android phones, one on Telus and the other one with Fido.
