In the past, before the Fongo brand was launched, customers could buy the VoIP unlock key for $50 and use Freephoneline on an ATA with no monthly or yearly charges.
Now I noticed this: https://www.fongo.com/home-phone/register/ which, if I understand correctly means that if you buy a pre-configured ATA you don't have to pay the $50 for the SIP credentials, but the service costs $4.95 / month. Am I reading it correctly ? Is this option available if I don't buy a pre-configured ATA (if I use my own) ?
Is the $50 one-time option still available ?
Need clarification about options

Re: Need clarification about options
Through FPL you can still purchase the VoIP unlock key and use your own ATA. With Fongo, now offering Fongo Home Phone, the option no longer stands to only purchase the unlock key and use your own ATA.

Re: Need clarification about options
So with Fongo, does one still have to pay the $50 for the SIP settings or those are included with the ATA ? (or they are programmed in the ATA but the customer never has access to them)

With Fongo home phone, you do not pay for the SIP.
