Hi,
I have a home phone with Freephoneline.
My internet provide is by Cable - Montreal DSL is the company in Montreal.
The internet is connected directly to the ATA - Linksys SPA2102, then connected to house phones.
My service worked perfectly since june, but now, I can't get calls, there's no rings, the Voicemail kicks in right away.
I went to My Account, and to Voicemail settings. It was set to (1) ring for an unknown reason !
I changed it to 5 rings, and it has been more than 24 hours, and it still doesn't ring at home, the Voicemail kicks in right away.
Someone on another thread for mobile phone said it dial *79, I will try it tonight.
If not, what is there to do?
I verified all the menus on my ATA, and there is no "VM delay" which I could change to 60 seconds, so that's not the problem, the ATA works fine.
It's the Fongo who activates the Voicemail immediately.
Of course, I tried rebooting everything. Someone said to kill the app.....but I have no app, this is a home phone, not a mobile.
Please help.

Re: Voicemail kicks in right away, no rings
If there's no rings then it likely means the ATA either isn't authenticating with us, or is set to reject/block calls. Unfortunately since it isn't our ATA, we can't provide any direct support for it for you. We have lots of other forum members using that model who may be able to chime up with some input!

Re: Voicemail kicks in right away, no rings
Bing Kol, you're the best !
I came home, dialed *73 and bingo, everything back to normal. The phone rings and the voicemail only kicks in after the 5 rings as specified on my Fongo settings.
Please tell me, where can I get a list of these codes, and their definition/explanation?
*73 must be somekind of reset function?
P.S. Next election, I vote for Bing Kol !

Your ATA has various * (star) codes built into it. If you log into your ATA and head for the Advanced > Regional tab you should see them all there. *72 and *73 activates and deactivates call forwarding. At some point someone probably dialled *72 by accident.
*78 and *79 activates Do Not Disturb, which is why it was suggested earlier.
