I've only had frephoneline for 2 months but I'm imminently going to go back to Vonage. Almost everyday I get automated calls from numbers with CIDs, 100, 111 or SIPvicious. If you answer there is never anyone there. If you don't answer it repeatedly rings and rings and rings. Usually I let my voicemail answer but today the 111 number appears to have evolved because when the CID is 111, my voicemail does not pick up!
This NEVER happened with Vonage but has been ongoing since starting with freephoneline.ca.
Please explain.
SIPvicious, 100 and 111 keep calling me

Re: SIPvicious, 100 and 111 keep calling me
Hello,
I found a thread on this issue in the forums:
http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f= ... lls#p35488
Assuming you are using a grandstream device:
In two of the posts by FONGO_steve, he shared the following to help stop these calls:
"Most ATAs have the option to disallow direct IP dialling - if you simply disable that ability then you can leave the port forwarding setup as is. All our ATAs configured in the recent year or so ship with this option disabled so we can be proactive against preventing these types of calls."
"In the Grandstream the exact name is:
"Allow Incoming SIP Messages from SIP Proxy Only"
and you'll want to set it to "Yes (no direct IP calling if Yes)"

Re: SIPvicious, 100 and 111 keep calling me
Thank you Mike. This has been very useful.
I use an OBI202 ATA so the setting you mentioned is not available. I've scoured the 200_ page admin guide for this ATA and I'm sure there must be an equivalent option... I just haven't found it yet. I did find a "blocked numbers" option so at least these numbers have been added until I get a reply from OBIHAI tech support.
Many thanks again for the assistance.
