I read some old topics regarding MWI update delay (up to hours). I tested it with my account, the MWI was be updated within minutes (either new voice mail arrives or all new messages are read or deleted). However when I configured forwarding VM to email, it arrives in 1~2 minutes.
General speaking, the smtp delivery takes more resource (CPU, disk, memory), but it actually does better job. It looks like the MWI notification subsystem design of FPL VM is not as good as the smtp delivery.
In order not be be fooled by the delayed MWI, I have to set it to forward to email only.
