incoming calls phone not ringing

Noticed after porting Bell number (Dec 14), sometimes phone's not ringing on incoming calls. Works fine for days, then phone stops ringing. Obihai 202, dd-wrt and technicolor DCM476. Reboots, power off/on, restore to factory and reconfigure has no affect. Worked last night (Jan 1), not working today. Outgoing calls are fine, incoming calls logged in history and go to voicemail when not answered. Tested with cell, answer non-ringing phone call connects fine.

Anyone else have problems with incoming calls not ringing? any suggestions?

Your ATA is not holding registration with the server. This is usually because the router forgets where your ATA is on your network.

Make sure all the right ports are forwarded to your ATA, in some cases using a stun server can help.

Registration seems fine, yeah the SIP ports are forwarded. Adjusted Obi202 X_KeepAlive to enable and X_KeepAliveExpires=120 because it was behind NAT, nothing changed.
Changed to tomato 1.28 so I could adjust UDP timeouts.
Put the ATA in front of the router, directly off cable modem (DCM476), FPL status is connected, outbound calls are fine, inbound still no ring.

I have the same problem. sometimes it has a one beep (very shortly) but mostly no ring. Any one can help? I am using Linksys PAP2-NA. just buy one today and spent over 4hr already.

Please check the mode of your modem (Routed vs Bridged), because when in Routed mode, it will act as a router and conflicts the settings (like port forwarding and even DMZ) you do in your actual router. I had your, and many other problems, with my phone as well, after December 19 (before that, it had been working fine). So, I changed my router to Bridged Mode (as it was indeed in Routed Mode), and changed my Router to handle the PPPoE connection. After I had saved these settings, all went well right away. Also don't forget to forward your ATA's RTP ports as well, the RTP port on my ATA is 5004-5005 (5005 is silently used, RTP uses one port up from your default port silently) Good Luck!

Solved, I think,,,,,, thanks for everyone's replies. In my case it turned out to be a physical phone cabling problem, it was difficult to isolate because everything worked perfectly sometimes. I replace the problematic 66 block with a BIX and everything's good so far but, time will tell.

With an ATA behind a stateful firewall, forwarding ports is not usually required. I did find some really helpful posts and think that tuning UDP timeouts and NAT keep alive settings will help stabilibze ATA connections. Also givie ATA traffic priority, the bandwidth is small.
