Long Distance charge incorrectly?

Post by dana_aki »

Hi,
I made a 3 seconds call to N.Y.C and got charged 0.06, I looked up the same number on the FPL long distance lookup and it says the charge should be 0.02 not 0.06......... is there something wrong with FPL billing ?

There is a 4 cents connection charge no matter how long your call is.

It is mentioned on the site in various places I believe.

**edit

It says it under the "Our Long Distance Rates" bit.

per call.

So if your call had lasted 5 minutes it would have been 4 + (5 * 2) = 14 cents.

If that is the correct formula to calculate the cost for a long distance call, could you please explain my particular charges.

I made a call to Vietnam. The call log shows a 9:00 (9 minutes round up to the minute). I was charge $0.85.

Based on the rate of $0.07 per minute listed for Vietnam, the cost should have been 4 + (9 x 7) = 67 cents.

Now what I did see on the log is that it shows I connected to VIETTEL MOBILE. The only way the charges makes sense is that the cost in reality is $0.09 per minute.

So either FPL has to update their rate information to correctly list all the difference connection points worldwide or update the charge calculator.

Thanks.
