Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
Hi, all. I initiated a phone number port to FPL in late December and I received email confirmation on the 11th of Jan. that the port was successfully completed. However, since then, when attempting to call this number using Telus and Koodo providers, it says "6ut2, the number you have reached is not in service." I called my cell company and they ran some tests (calling from different numbers and providers) and said that it appears to be a problem with the port. However, I am able to dial out to these phone numbers but they can't call me. Strange?
I emailed support but have not heard from them and would really like to get this home phone working properly asap. Any suggestions on what is happening and how I can fix it?
Thanks.

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
I believe support is a bit backed up while they switch over to their new systems.
If you have sent the email then it will be looked at, it just might take a bit of time to get to. In the mean time you can always pm fongo_mike with a link to this thread and ask him to look into things. It might get done quicker if he thinks it is an easy fix. Don't forget to include your phone number so he knows which account is having the problem.

PM any of the green moderators. They need to push a key on their end, trust me.

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
Another issue is all calls are going straight to voicemail and even with ATA disconnected and windows application open, calls still go straight to voicemail. Rings before voicemail is set to 5 in the desktop app settings but still goes straight to voicemail. What is causing this? Also related to porting issues or is this something else?

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
Still no word from anyone at FPL or Fongo about what is happening with my phone and the porting problems!! Even my PM to Fongo_mike has gone unanswered.
Could someone at least let me know how long I am going to be without a working home phone (been 2 weeks now). I still get "number not in service" when calling from Koodo and Telus cellphones and all other calls go directly to voicemail. I have setup follow me to a cellphone to at least get some of the calls.
Really wish Fongo had some sort of phone support so I could at least have a conversation with someone about this problem! Although I am sure they are really busy, this lack of response just feels like I am being ignored.

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
Same issue here... I don't receive incoming calls for the last 10 days. Initially, I thought my ATA problem. I have reconfigured it and still the same issue. Sometimes the phone rings and majority of time is not and goes straight to the VM.

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
I'm having a similar issue.
I have two FPL numbers. One of the number is a ported number from Shaw which is having problems receiving incoming calls from Fido and Shaw numbers. The other FPL number is working fine.
The ported number, when receiving incoming calls from Fido and Shaw numbers will go straight to voicemail. The call goes through when using my other FPL number to call the ported number.

Do you have both numbers configured on the same ATA?
Please let me know.

Yes. Both numbers are on the same ATA with similar configuration other than the telephone number and Sip Configuration password.Fongo Support wrote:Hi there, hellixer wrote:I'm having a similar issue.

That might be an issue if you try to connect from same IP address on 2 accounts using same port 5060.
I think that ATA needs to be configured different way than standard if you do this.
Thanks,

Hi,
I don't know how i should configure the ATA so I just disabled the second number but I'm still getting the same problem.

You should configure your ATA as per FPL guidelines:
http://support.freephoneline.ca/entries ... redentials
If you require additional resources, you might want to check the below- it is almost the same as your ATA:

Re: Cannot receive incoming calls on recently ported number
I decided to switch the lines around in the ATA settings. This allowed my ported number to work perfectly but affected the other telephone number.
I'll just leave it at that since I don't use the other line that often.
Thanks for the help.
