Sending a FAX to Softphone

I have tried to send several faxes to my softphone # but it does not recaive the fax. All i get is a voicemail with the beeping. I do have it set to forward all mesages to email. Does this feature work for softphone or does it only work when you have SIP?

You will have to FORWARD ALL voicemails to your email for this to work, yes. However you cannot SEND faxes with the software, only with a SIP device, and only if it supports T.38 faxing.

I have all voice mails forwarded to email and it still does not work. I have tried it from 2 different fax machines. I know i can't send a fax with soft phone. I have ordered my config file but i have not received it yet so the SIP is not an issue yet unless it is a requirement to receive faxes.

I am not sure what else to try.

Besides forwarding you have to change the 0 (zero) to 2 in followme settings. (seconds until voice mail)

You are right awan, if you leave the rings to voicemail at the default value (30sec) the fax machine will actually time out.
