Trying to set up VoIP with Motorola VT2442

Post by snowmagician »

Is it a good idea to set up a static IP to use my freephoneline account?

I am trying to configure my Motorola VT2442 so I can use my freephoneline account, but as soon as I connect the VoIP router, the entire internet stops working.

:(

If anyone has any experience with Motorola VT2442 could you give me a hand? Thank you fellow Freephonline users!

Hi there,

I will give you a hand- but please use DHCP on the Motorola unit.

Please send me a PM with your account # and I will set an appointment.

Thanks,

From past experience, the Motorola VT2442 is a nasty ATA to deal with. You need to deal with scripts and upload them with TFTP. The web interface is a farce, it really does not do anything. Oh yeah, are you sure the Motorola VT2442 is actually unlocked?

Compared to how cheap other ATA devices are now, the Motorola VT2442 is really not worth the hassle.
