This is not probably a FPL issue, but rather something related to my Router that hopefully someone can help me with.
In my Router , the ports between 16384 and 16482 with Port type UDP have been opened to the IP address of the ATA so that it can work with FPL. However, I noticed that the last digit of my IP address (assigned to the ATA) can change after a reboot of the ATA. When that happens, I have to make changes in the Router so that the ports between 16384 and 16482 are now opened to the new IP address of the ATA.
Is that something that I have to live with or is there a workaround for that ?
Thanks
Gab

Re: Private IP address for ATA changes after reboot
You will more than likely be able to assign a static IP for the ATA in your router, then it will be given the same IP each time.
Have a look through your settings, and if you still can't find what you need to do post your router name and model and I am sure someone will be able to look it up for you.

Or, in his/her router there should be an option to reserve an ip to any particular device connected. In other words your device would have it's own static ip so that the ip reserved for that device your configuring never changes.

Re: Private IP address for ATA changes after reboot
I have a Belkin FSD8236tt4 and it looks like I should look for something in my Router that allow mapping the MAC address of my ATA to a fixed (static) IP.
Unfortunately, I couldn`t find anything like that in the settings of my router.
Anyone has experience on this particular model of Belkin router
Thanks

Best way to test do a hard reset on your router or update your router firmware then see what happened
If that not working just get like TPLink or Linksys router they are much more compatible with ViOP

Re: Private IP address for ATA changes after reboot
I upgraded the firmware of my SPA112. In the SPA112, I went to the Internet Settings, I try to change the connection type from 'Automatic Configuration - DHCP' to 'Static IP', then entered the Internet IP Address, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. My SPA112 couldn't then register and I had to put it back to 'Automatic Configuration - DHCP'. I couldn't figure out what was explained in the link that you gave at https://supportforums.cisco.com/message/3637405#3637405 as it was too technical for me.
Anyway, I would have thought that the static IP to be assigned to the SPA112 should be done at the Router level, i.e in my Belking F5D8236-4 as it is the Router which assigns IP addresses to each computer connected to it.
Any other thought on how to assign a static IP to my SPA112 from my Belking F5D8236-4 router.

Re: Private IP address for ATA changes after reboot
Glad to here this, at least now you know your up to date.gab wrote:I upgraded the firmware of my SPA112.
Look in the status page of your Belkin and see the ip it is giving the SPA112, once you find the ip that its reserving for it then you take that ip and the submask along with the default ip of your belkin and place all this info into your Spa112 as this should place the Spa112 into static ip mode.gab wrote:Any other thought on how to assign a static IP to my SPA112 from my Belking F5D8236-4 router.
