6min:37sec phone call equals 24MB?

My wife was in Toronto and called home, Kitchener, and we talked for just over 6 minutes. I checked the usage rate (Telus on a flex data plan for tablets) and it showed up as 24MB for this conversation. I thought Fongo averaged about 0.5 Mb/minute. Is this normal?
