Hello,
Wonder if you can help - I have the Linksys PAP2T and I've followed all the set up instructions provided in this forum (that I know of). I can call my fpl number sometimes, then minutes later I just get the fast busy signal. Sometimes picking up the phone connected to ATA allows me to call no problem, for a while, then busy signal again.
Any suggestions, or set ups that I may be messing up?
Thanks

Re: Incoming Calls Not Going Through - Fast Busy Signal
Good guess, that would be my first guess. But since it is a fast busy signal I'm thinking it has something to do with either your network or your device.
A few solutions could be:
1) Check your NAT settings in your device, turn them off if you have any (If you're using asterisk, you will need NAT most likely - Can't help you there).
2) Set "Register Expires" (Line X tab of your device) lower. The default for your device my be something like 3600; Try setting it to 300.
Beyond that it's a PSTN routing issue and will be have to looked into further.

Re: Incoming Calls Not Going Through - Fast Busy Signal
Hi,
Yes, I've tried Codec = Yes and = No. I've left it as No since Yes goes directly to voicemail.
Sorry, but I'm kind of new at this. How do I check the NAT via the PAP ip address? I'll also try the expire time - I believe it is currently 3600.
Thanks

Re: Incoming Calls Not Going Through - Fast Busy Signal
Hello,
I tried changing register to 300 from 3600 - made one call then 5 mins later, the same fast busy signal.
For the NAT, are you referring to Line 1 tab "NAT Mapping Enable" and "NAT Keep Alive Enable:"? If so, they were both already set to NO.
Any other suggestions?
thanks

Okay, well you were able to make one call so something is timing out there, have you tried resetting your ATA to factory settings? (73739# on a PAP2T), also make sure there isn't an ampersand in your Display Name

Re: Incoming Calls Not Going Through - Fast Busy Signal
Hi,
I was able to make one call before. I tried again this morning - twice it gave the fast busy signal, then on 3rd try it worked. Just tried dialing from work right now and it went through, so I'll test over the next few days to see; and report back.
There is no ampersand in the display name.
Thanks

Re: Incoming Calls Not Going Through - Fast Busy Signal
FYI, changed register expire = 180 and my router time zone was updated to match the ATA. Only 2-3 times where others phoned in and got the fast busy signal. After first try, the second try usually goes through no problem - so a lot better than before.
Thanks
