Hello,
I am thinking of getting a new Fongo number in another city, but am afraid of having that number locked in to Fongo in case for whatever reason I decide to go to a regular phone plan. Is it possible to port numbers out of Fongo and will this always be the case?
On another note, a new account also means that I would now have 2 Fongo accounts but only one mobile device to use them from. Is it possible to forward received SMS messages from the first account (whether to a different number or to email)? I don't want to have to log out and log back every day to check if I have any messages.
Thanks!

You will always be able to port your number out. Because Fibernetics (Fongo's parent) is a CLEC they have to let you port your number out.
And no, you can't forward your text messages, just the actual calls.

Thanks Jake! Can I at least check the SMS messages from the web interface or desktop app? Or is logging out and in on my mobile device the only way?

hi jake,
is it possible to use mightytext to access the text messages from an android on a desktop? i think mightytext would access the android message box so guess fongo would have to be able to link into the android message system.
thanks

I have no idea Tonyn, you would have to either try it or send the team a support question. Sorry.
