Buy VoIP Config with Fongo Home Phone

Post by TheRage »

I am currently registered with the Fongo Home Phone service and I must say I really like the service. Now, I would like to buy the configuration (25$) in order to configure my ATA. Unfortunately, I am unable to get it done through Customer Support...

- There is no option to buy the VoIP from Fongo.com portal
- I was told by Customer Support I must use FreePhoneLine (same company) in order to buy the VoIP Config
- I am unable to port my number from Fongo to FreePhoneLine using the website. I receive an error message saying "Error: Unfortunately the number (XXX) XXX-XXXX is not available to be transferred to Freephoneline.
We apologize for the inconvinience."
- Customer Support will not port my number from Fongo to FreePhoneLine because "management wont approve it".

I am trying to get this resolved and I am unable to get a reply for my ticket. The last reply I got from Customer Support was on July 10th. Ticket still not resolved... Still cannot buy my config... Still waiting for a resolution.

Anyone successfuly bought their config using Fongo Home Phone? Any suggestion?

Thanks!

This isn't something the forum can help you with unfortunately. It's far beyond what we have dealings with. People in the past have managed to move from Fongo to FPL and from FPL to Fongo though.

I will say though that the unlock key is $50 not $25. $25 is the charge for porting your number in. If they do let you port your number to FPL and then you buy the unlock key it will cost $75 in total.

The question has to be asked if they can stop you porting your number, but again this isn't something we can really help you with here, and it will get into an even greyer area due to the fact both companies are owned by the same parent company.

Hopefully you will get an answer one way or another, but at worse you can just close your Fongo account and set up a new FPL account and buy the unlock key. You will obviously loose your current number however.

It's BS if they won't port your number. The reason why they wouldn't want to is because they will be losing your monthly payment. If they really won't do it then you can always port to another company, such as Bell, then to FPL. You shouldn't have to do it that way, but it might work.

I know but what can I do. I hope they fix that in a near future. I may open another ticket soon and maybe I will get another answer, who knows. I'll try another category of problem and let you guys know of what happens.

BTW, I am a very loyal customer. When I like a service, I tend to stick to it. But when I change to something else, I usually don't come back. So if one day I port my number to another company, it's not to port it back again, trust me!
