Emergency number
Hi!
I was looking into the settings of my ATA, Linksys SPA2102, and i saw something that i really don't know why it is blank.
I went in the voice options, after Advanced settings, and Line 1 and Line 2.
At the complete bottom of the page, i saw Emergency number, and there is no number.
Is it normal?
I really don't want to have any surprise if someday i need to call 911.
I just would like to know if it's normal.
Thank you in advance
Delcio

Re: Emergency number
your 911 number is part of the dial plan ..e.g.
Dial Plan: (911S0|[2-9]xxxxxxxxxS0|1xxxxxxxxxxS0|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*S0|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
Dial Plan: (911S0|[2-9]xxxxxxxxxS0|1xxxxxxxxxxS0|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*S0|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)

Re: Emergency number
Most ATA's are set up so that everything can be controlled by them, however with us, everything for the most part is proprietary (Hence why a lot of controls on the ATA don't work, or remain off, yet still work with the service).

Re: Emergency number
So, if i understand, the ATA is not in control of the 911.
FPL controls the 911.
So if i dial the number, it will be transfered directly to the local autorities.
Thank you for your help

I recommend reading http://www.freephoneline.ca/911 to ensure you have a full understanding of the E911 system functionality.
Edit: Looks like tbrummell and I were thinking the same thing at the same time.

Re: Emergency number
The dial plan supplied on the Sip Setting page for my spa2102 is:
(911|[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|1xxxxxxxxxx|011xxxxxxxxxxxx.|98*|[6-7]x*xxxxxxxxxxx.)
Note the lack of S0 after the 911 does the S0 need to be added to the dial plan (911S0| to ensure E911 is dialed out if needed?
Thanks

Re: Emergency number
911 is a global exception that should be recognized right away and dialed just as fast; however, it won't have any negative effects if you add the S0 either.
