when an international calls me to my fpl number, the other side says they only hear a busy tone...
however local calls can be received correctly. is there something i'm missing in the settings?
btw, its a call from asia to a montreal 438 fpl number.

Re: cannot receive international calls
I know this won't help your problem but I get frequent calls from my family in the UK, so calls outside Canada do come through properly.
Maybe the busy signal is being generated from their end? Just as a thought, it might be making sure that they are dialling the right country access code.
For example, my Mum in the UK dials 00-1-613-366-XXXX where my friend in Australia has to dial 0011-1-613-366-XXXX
You probably have the right number, but it might be worth double checking with this site http://www.howtocallabroad.com/canada/ Use the drop down boxes in the "Not calling from the US or Canada?" form at the top and hit submit.

Re: cannot receive international calls
thanks for the reply but i'm pretty sure it was the right number (and we double chcked) that was dialed since i have a local landline and i was able to receive calls from the same person.
it must have something to do with FPL or some settings i missed? i just followed the setting guide in the stickies here though.

Re: cannot receive international calls
The only other thing that springs to mind is which codec you are using. We had this here once before when our ATA was to to only use G729a. Changing the setting to use other codecs fixed this for us. Can't think of what else it might be, sorry.
