I have to dial an extension after I dial a number and hit submit and when I use the keypad within a call it doesn't seem to be working right.
For instance I dial 555-5555 and press call. Then I want to enter an extension within google voice (x 555) and it says incorrect extension.
But when I do this within my actually phone plan it works.
I'm using the android app.
Is this possibly a bug or is there something wrong with my phone?

Re: Dialing while in a call
With gmail phone (I haven't got google voice) I can certainly call Spokn access numbers as well as SipBroker numbers followed by various codes from gmail on my computer.
This is not quite the same as calling from your phone(!) but likely indicates there should be no problem for you.
Or, do you mean one of the Fongo services? If that is the case then, using the Dell Android application, there seems to be no problem either. I have had problems with the PC client when trying to use the same codes but I think that is a problem with the PC client. You could try using a different DTMF method, say SIPINFO or RFC2833, if the phone configuration allows that.
