I've reluctantly ported my FPL number to another provider (for reasons I can't get into right now), but I wanted to keep my account open as I paid for a VOIP unlock key. I let the porting process go through, but Fongo just went and closed my account on me without any chance for me say anything about it.
I would be willing to create a new account, which is easy enough, but will Fongo give me a credit to use for the VOIP key I previously purchased?

Re: Ported FPL number, but need to keep an account open
You might be lucky if you plead your case to maybe fongo_mike or fongo_steve, but I think it is quite normal for any phone company to close an account once the number gets ported out.
I'm sure Fongo as a company would not like to loose you as a customer, so they (Mike or Steve) might do something. I doubt you will get much joy by calling a CSR.

Thanks Jake, I'm feeling the same way (about the CSR route).
I've PM'd both Mike and Steve and hopefully I'll hear some good news from one of them soon.

Hi John,
Like other providers, when porting out your number, it is standard procedure to close the account as there is no longer any service. you would be required to open a new account, and if needed, to purchase the key for the new account.
