How important is RTP Size & Ringwave?

Post by Pirate »

Will my voice quality be affected majorly if my current RTP size is .080, and the ringwave form is TRAPEZOID? The reason for this setting is that I can still compromise and receive faxes without any problems. But just want to make sure that I don't sacrifice too much on voice quality.

(I understand that the default setting should be RTP .020, and ringwave type is SINUSOID)...

Ring type won't affect voice quality at all, just how the ATA sends the ringing voltage to the device attached.

RTP size is variable - if it works for you, then it'll work. 0.020 is the most widely used and problem free one, but if your connection will work with higher, then go for it!
