I have a FPL phone that is our primary number. It has occasionally received calls from odd numbers like 01 or 1111. They usually call a couple times then quit. I am now receiving an unknown Name and Unknown Number that has been ringing every 2 minutes for over 48 hours. On Bell you could call block an unknown, can I do that on FPL? WHen I answer there is nobody there but If I wait it does some kind of an international ring back. Please help. If this doesn't stop I will have to give up on our prime phone and have bell take over to stop the calls. Just to put this into perspective its 720 calls per day. I have unplugged the at a overnight. within 2 minutes of plugging it back in the calls come again.
Help Please!!!!!
John

Re: Phone won't stop ringing
It is because you have opened up port 5060 from your router to your ATA. They are not calling your number, but effectively they are calling your IP address.
There is a thread somewhere on how to block these calls on your ATAs. I will try and find it for you.
Edit, try this thread http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8192

Google "SIP scanners". There is a thread here with what measures you can take:

It's for OBI but can be applied for other ATAs, I'm sure.
For me the last method works best and is easy to apply.
