no text messages after number ported

My number just got ported and my android app now shows it as the new number but when a text message it sent to it, it actually still goes to the old provider. does the text messaging switch over take longer. I saw some threads about this issue but Im not sure what needs to be done to fix it. Also, yes, my fongo account does have text messaging package with it too.
